Group of friendship with Nagorno-Karabakh formed at Lithuanian Seimas

  At its meeting on Thursday, the Seimas of Lithuania official announced the creation of a group of friendship with the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

First Deputy Speaker arty Vytautas Gapsys read out a relevant and invited the MPs wishing to join, and announced the date of the group’s first meeting.

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Azubalis said creation of the group affects Lithuania’s official foreign policy.

“What you have just read runs counter to the recommendations of the Seimas Board, the Charter and the Committee on Foreign Affairs. Seimas establishes parliamentary friendship groups with the countries which have received international recognition. In this case, such a group cannot be created in the Seimas,” he said. Mr Azubalis noted that Lithuania is thus becoming a platform for political games and conflict of ethnic minorities in the Caucasus.

One of the founders of the group Dangute Mikutiene said in response that other groups of friendship are formed in the Seimas with unrecognized regions.

“Lithuania is a democratic state, and Seimas members have a mandate to be friends with parliaments of other countries, even if they are not officially recognized,” she said.

Երեւանում տեղի է ունեցել Երեւան-Վան ուղիղ չվերթի շնորհանդեսը

Երեւանում մարտի 14-ին տեղի է ունեցել ապրիլի 3-ից սկսվելիք Երեւան-Վան-Երեւան ուղիղ չվերթի շնորհանդեսը։

   Շնորհանդեսին Հայաստանի արդյունաբերողների եւ գործարարների միության նախագահ Արսեն Ղազարյանը նշեց, որ Երեւան-Վան չվերթը կարող է նպաստել հայ-թուրքական գործարար կապերի զարգացմանը եւ տարածաշրջանային զբոսաշրջության աճին։

Երեւան-Վան չվերթի հայկական կողմի կազմակերպի, «Նարեկավանք տուր» ընկերության համահիմնադիր Արմեն Հովհաննիսյանն իր հերթին նշեց, որ չվերթ իրականություն է դարձել Հայաստանի արդյունաբերողների եւ գործարարների միության, USAID-ի, «Եվրասիա համագործակցության հիմնադարամի»-ի, Հայաստանի էկնոմիկայի նախարարության աջակցության շնորհիվ։

Նշվեց, որ ապրիլի 3–ից շաբաթական երկու անգամ կլինեն ուղիղ չվերթեր Երեւանից Վան եւ հակառակ ուղղությամբ։ Երեւան-Վան-Երեւան չվերթի միայն տոմսի արժեքը կլինի 250 դոլարին համարժեք դրամ, իսկ առաջին ամսվա համար լինելու է 20 տոկոսի զեղչ՝ 200 դոլարին համարժեք դրամով։

Լինելու են նաեւ տուրիստական ամբողջական փաթեթներ՝ 3,4 եւ 7 օրով, որոնց արժեքը լինելու է 180 հազար դրամից սկսած՝ ներառյալ ավիատոմսերը, սնունդը եւ հյուրանոցները։ Չվերթը կազմակերպել են Հայաստանյան «ՆԱՐԵԿԱՎԱՆՔ ՏՈՒՐ» եւ թուրքական «ԲՈՐԱ ՋԵԹ» ընկերությունները՝ Հայաստանի արդյունաբերողների եւ գործարարների (գործատուների) միության ակտիվ աջակցությամբ։ Չվերթերը կիրականացվեն եվրոպական արտադրության ATR 72-500 օդանավերով, տեւողությունը՝ 40 րոպե։

В Ереване прошла презентация прямого авиарейса

      Ереване 14 марта прошла презентация прямого авиарейса Ереван – Ван – Ереван, который будет запущен 3 апреля. На презентации председатель Союза промышленников и предпринимателей Армении Арсена Казарян заявил, что рейс Ереван – Ван может поспособствовать развитию армяно-турецких деловых связей и росту туризма в регионе.

Организатор рейса Ереван – Ван с армянской стороны, соучредитель компании «Нарекаванк тур» Армен Ованнисян, в свою очередь, отметил, что рейс стал реальностью благодаря поддержке Союза промышленников и предпринимателей Армении, Агентства США по международному развитию, фонда «Евразия – сотрудничество», Министерства экономики Армении.

Было отмечено, что с 3 апреля два раза в неделю будут совершаться прямые рейсы из Еревана в Ван и обратно. Стоимость билета составит 250 долларов, а в первый месяц будет действовать скидка на 20 процентов – билет будет стоить 200 долларов.

Будут также полные туристические пакеты на 3, 4 и 7 дней, стоимость которых будет начинаться от 180 тысяч драмов, включая билеты, питание и гостиницы. Рейс организовали компания «Нарекаванк тур» из Армении и компания «Бораджет» из Турции. Рейсы будут совершать самолеты европейского производства «ATR 72-500», полет будет длиться 40 минут.

Американская художница Айрис Скотт в совершенстве овладела техникой рисования картин пальцами вместо кистей.

   Натянув на руки тонкие латексные перчатки, Айрис Скотт (Iris Scott) с удовольствием пачкает их краской, чтобы затем перенести на холст то, что ей видится. Пейзажи или портреты, природу или город, людей или животных, а то и сюжеты, напоминающие стоп-кадры из фильмов, - все это состоит из десятков тысяч коротких мазков, они же прикосновения пальцев художницы. Так она и работает, чередуя короткие мазки с длинными, смешивая краску на руках, а затем - непосредственно на полотне. 

  Желание освоить новую для себя технику живописи пришло к Айрис Скотт внезапно, по воле случая. Окончив обучение, она поехала отдыхать на Тайвань, где днем царила такая жара, что работать можно было только в помещении, включив кондиционер. В один из таких дней художница была вынуждена спасаться от зноя в своей комнате, и чтобы лишний раз не выходить, даже чтобы помыть кисти, испачканные в краске, она принялась рисовать пальцами. И этот процесс оказался настолько увлекательным, что с тех пор Айрис Скотт решила совсем отказаться от кисточек, и запастись огромным количеством хирургических перчаток.

  Короткие и длинные мазки, чередование быстрого и медленного темпа рисования со стороны напоминают игру на рояле. Картины Айрис Скотт, нарисованные в технике Fingerpainting, напоминают работы импрессионистов, которые также отказались от кисточек, но в пользу мастихина.

Tony Hadley and Kim Wilde perform gig at 43,000 feet (13km) for Comic Relief

   Kim Wilde performs during British Airwaysí Highest Concert in the air - at 43,000 feet, setting two new Guinness World Records, for highest concert and highest 'Harlem Shake', - which featured performances from 80s artists Tony Hadley and Kim Wilde on the red-nosed Boeing 767 aircraft in aid of Comic Relief and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Red Nose Day.

  Eighties stars Tony Hadley and Kim Wilde sang their way into the record books today after performing the highest ever concert together on a jumbo jet.
   The Spandau Ballet star and the Kids in America singer put on an acoustic show for 128 passengers on a Boeing 767 aircraft at 43,000 feet (13,000 metres) for Comic Relief.

The duo, who were joined by fellow 1980s acts Bananarama and Go West, beat the previous world record of 42,080 feet (12,825 metres) held by singer James Blunt.
Passengers also managed to set a second world record on the British Airways flight by performing the highest ever Harlem Shake.
The internet craze, in which a group of people dance to short excerpt from the song Harlem Shake, has swept the globe after thousands of videos were uploaded to YouTube.
Wilde, who recently became an unexpected internet sensation after a video of her serenading commuters on a train went viral, said: "I'm becoming an old hand at performing on public transport, in fact I'm getting a bit of a taste for it, so when British Airways asked me to play at 43,000ft I simply couldn't resist.
"It was great fun and I'm proud to have been a part of it."
Hadley, 52, added: "I'm very excited to be in the Guinness Book of Records, it's quite an amazing feat to be part of.
"It's really great that British Airways has put this event on, which has raised thousands of pounds for Flying Start."
EastEnders actor Shane Richie hosted the 80s Gig in the Sky to celebrate 25 years of Red Nose Day.
In that time British Airways has raised more than £4.5 million for Flying Start, the airline's charity partnership with Comic Relief.
The artists, who had to perform a 15-minute set accompanied by musical instruments, played for 22 minutes and 36 seconds at 43,000ft.

Assisted by her brother on the guitar, Wilde sang her hits You Came, You Keep Me Hangin' On and Kids in America, while Hadley performed acoustic renditions of True, Gold and a cover of Queen's Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
Passengers were served with canapis inspired by British Airways menus from 1988, while cabin crew donned original 1980s Roland Klein uniforms.

Keith Williams, British Airways' chief executive, said: "I've visited a number of Comic Relief-funded projects and know how important it is to continue to raise money for our Flying Start partnership.

"The 80s Gig in the Sky is just one of the great fundraising initiatives that our teams have been working on. Many congratulations to everyone involved for this fantastic achievement."

 1980-ականների բրիտանացի փոփ-աստղեր Թոնի Հեդլին, Քիմ Ուայլդը, Go West-ն ու Bananarama-ն մարտի 10-ին համերգ են տվել Boeing 747-ի վրա գտնվող 128 ուղևորների համար՝ 13,000 մետր բարձրության վրա: Այս մասին այսօր հայտնում է The Independent-ը: 
Ակուստիկ ելույթը շարունակվել է 22 րոպե 36 վայրկյան, նշում է պարբերականը:

Van Dyck painting 'found online'

A previously unknown painting by 17th Century master Van Dyck has been identified after being spotted online.

The portrait was previously thought to have been a copy and was in storage at the Bowes Museum in County Durham.

But it was photographed for a project to put all of the UK's oil paintings on the BBC Your Paintings website, where it was seen by an art historian.

After an investigation by BBC Two's Culture Show, it has been verified by Van Dyck expert Dr Christopher Brown.

Dr Brown, director of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, told The Culture Show that it was "a substantial discovery".

"It's quite clear that this is a late English period Van Dyck," he said. "I don't think there's any doubt about that. This absolutely is Van Dyck at his best."

Anthony Van Dyck, one of the finest portrait painters of the 17th Century, was born in Antwerp and became court artist for King Charles I in London in 1632.

The portrait depicts Olivia Boteler Porter, lady-in-waiting to Charles I's wife Henrietta Maria.

 The painting, which was not thought to be important and in a bad condition, was covered in layers of dirt and varnish and was not on display at the Bowes Museum.

But it was photographed as part of the Public Catalogue Foundation's mission to document every oil painting in public ownership and added to the BBC's Your Paintings website, where it was spotted by art historian and dealer Dr Bendor Grosvenor.

"Although as part of our national heritage values are irrelevant, for insurance purposes it should now be valued at anything up to £1m," Dr Grosvenor said.

"Had it appeared at auction as a copy, and in its dirty state, it would probably only have been estimated at about £3,000-5,000."
